Building Hope is our campaign to build a permanent facility for Living Hope EPC. Our desire is to build a facility that could accommodate up to 300 worshipers along with the associated classrooms and gathering area to support the life of the church.   

The project started in 2018 when 6.2 Acres off of Route 15 was donated to the church. It was then accompanied by a 3 year fundraising campaign that concluded in 2021. Over that time, an initial building design was generated, along with multiple studies and permits that were needed to get permission from the Prince William county to build. While we were successful in completing most of the permitting steps, the significantly rising costs spurred by the pandemic – as well as some unique costs of the site itself, caused the budget to soar to a place that it is not longer feasible to build the facility within a reasonable budget on the original property. 

   We have therefore put the property up for sale. The parcel right next to ours is owned by Park Valley Church, which is also for sale. Our hope is that having them both on the market at the same time, might attract buyers who would benefit from buying both pieces of land.

What does this mean for our building plans? We are still committed to building a permanent home for Living Hope and have been actively looking for parcels that are better suited to our needs (or an existing building that can be modified to do so).  We are currently in talks on a promising piece of land that could be a potential fit and should know more as the summer progresses.  We have seen God work in our body in many different ways and trust that the time and place of our next home is just another way that He will show us his omnipotence.

At this point, we are very grateful for the provision of the Covenant Christian Academy building, and we are praying for the Lord’s guidance about where and how to have a building of our own!
